Get a floor mat or rug for  both sides of your door (just be sure that the mat/rug you get doesn’t have a chemical that will harm your floor)

You probably don’t walk on your floor evenly, meaning there are some areas that a high-traffic areas. Cover these areas with a rug

-
Don’t just clean your floor when you spilled something. Clean the floor regularly with a dust mop, soft-bristled broom or vacuum.
-
Use only wood floor cleaning products specially formulated for urethane finishes
-
If these products are not available, you can mix 1/4 cup of white vinegar with one quart of water as a substitute
-
Use a thoroughly wrung soft cloth or sponge, work in small areas at a time, and dry each area with a soft cloth or towel before continuing
-
-
Do not use wax, oil soap, common household cleaners, or any abrasive cleaners
-
Use a buffer to restore the floor’s shine – but only when necessary. Don’t make this a habit
